The Cape Point & Peninsula Tour in Cape Town is one of the most scenic excursions in the world, combining sights, fragrances, atmospheres and history wrapped up in fact, myths and legend.
This day tours starts with a very scenic drive to Hout Bay, via Clifton Beach & Camps Bay. Camps bay is well known for its’ street café’s and fine restaurants. Arrive at Hout Bay Harbor, a quaint fishing village
Your journey takes us south from Cape Town to False Bay which is famous for many reasons, one of which is that it is the largest breeding ground of sharks in the world. Follow the coast en route to Cape Point, visiting one of only four land based African penguin colonies in the world. As you enter the Cape Peninsula National Park, look out for a number of endemic species of animal as we wind our way through dramatic landscapes and vegetation to the tip of the continent.
Located in the Cape of Good Hope nature reserve, Cape Point is Africa’s most South Westerly tip. A World Heritage Site which includes the majestic Table Mountain chain, stretching all the way from Signal Hill to Cape Point. This stretch of coastline is dotted with bays and beaches, beautiful valleys and contains an extraordinary mix of diverse & unique fauna and flora. At Cape Point, we suggest taking the Funicular to the Lighthouse to get a bird’s eye view!
On the return journey, we enjoy a scenic drive up the western side of the Peninsula and over breathtaking Chapman’s Peak Drive (if open as it is subject to closure if weather is bad) between Noordhoek and Hout Bay. Make your further along the Atlantic Seaboard through Camps Bay, stopping for photo’s of the towering buttresses of the 12 Apostles. Hereafter pass through Clifton to Sea Point, ending our tour in Cape Town.
Chapman’s Peak drive is a drive to be remembered! Every which way you look there is something spectacular to be seen. On the way, you’ll travel along the False Bay Coast and on to Simon’s Town, where you will visit the resident African penguin colony at Boulders Beach. African Penguins (also known as jackass penguins) are the only penguins found on the African continent. African Penguins are classified as an endangered species, with a mere 26,000 breeding pairs left in the world.
Just a point of interest!
The true southernmost point of Africa is Cape Agulhas, located to the east, on the Garden Route of South Africa over 200 km away. This is the spot where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet. The Cape of Good Hope is a promontory off of the southern tip of South Africa, and is often mistakenly thought of as the southernmost point of Africa.

Take a leisurely walk through the gardens – originally the vegetable and fruit orchard which supplied the passing ships. Up for some curio shopping? Saturated with old Cape Dutch charm and hospitality, Vredenheim is home to coffee, wine and food, as well as lush gardens, a nursery and the Big Cats Park. Vineyards and fruit orchards make the area an ideal picnic spot. Vredenheim is also home to animals such as wildebeest, springbok, elands, ostriches and zebras.
The Big cat sanctuary is currently home to 3 adult brown lions, 2 adult white lions, 1 white lion cub, 2 brown lion cubs, 2 caracal, 1 cheetah, 1 leopard and 2 Bengal tigers. Enclosures are large and spacious, and offer each cat their own “creature comforts”, such as a play area and swimming pool for our tigers, long grass for our leopard and cheetah, and a big, comfortable rock for our male white lion to sun himself on during the day.
Visitors to the Vredenheim Big Cats Park can enjoy the rare and exciting experience of being able to view these beautiful creatures up close, but still from the safety of our viewing decks and behind the enclosure fences! After all, these are wild animals and we respect them as such.Daily feeding are at 11 am and 3 pm – so be sure not to miss out on the action!
Tasting Room also shares the stage with a gift shop, giving guests the perfect excuse to browse around whilst enjoying a wine tasting. From calendars and curios to jewelry, toys and art, and everything in between, there’s really something for everyone!

WINE, SAFARI, CHEESE & CHOCLATE!
Start the day with a visit to Villiera Estate – we take a look behind the scenes with a cellar tour followed by….. Wait for it!
Bubbly & Nougat tasting! Depart on a unique safari game drive through the estate. A number of mammals have been introduced in the Wildlife Sanctuary: Springbuck, Kudu, Giraffe, Bontebok, Eland, Gemsbok, Black Wildebeest, Bush Pig, Burchell’s Zebra, common Duiker, Steenbuck and Grysbok. Take a game drive through the 220 hectares lasts approximately two hours. What a way to start the day!
Lunch is an 8 course Tappas/Wine tasting. The main concept behind pairings is that certain elements (such as texture and flavor) in both food and wine interact with each other, thus finding the right combination of these elements will make the entire dining experience.
Moving on to the Chocolate/Wine experience at Waterford Wine estate. Depart on a unique three-hour trip on a safari type vehicle…This experience allows the chance to taste our award-winning Estate wines amongst the vineyards of their origin. The wine tasting will be accompanied by various light snacks, which are well suited to pair with the individual wines. The experience will end off with the Wine and Chocolate Tasting, back at the winery.

Last stop of the tour – arrive at Fairview Winery – a Nine course paired Master Cheese/wine experience awaits you!The Fairview Master Wine Tasting showcases the estates top wines. These wines are made from grapes from the Paarl wine region. Once again this also a hot region. They boast a large range of wonderful wines and are most famous for their Shiraz. The range is however extensive and the cheeses will be paired with a combination of white and red wines. Fairview is the largest producer of specialty cheeses in South Africa. Every week they change the wines and cheeses they are pairing. On this visit you enjoy 8 cheeses paired with 8 wines.

GREAT WHITE SHARK CAGE DIVING
Sharks are quite possibly the world’s most feared animals. From the smallest sand shark to the enormous whale shark, they are sleek, muscled, and some are almost as agile as a dolphin. There is no doubt that they are the most evolved predators in the ocean!
Row upon row of teeth and capable of sensing the blood of an injured animal from over a kilometer away, its not surprising that they are the most feared creature beneath the waves.
